Tomorrow I’ll be speaking at Nehar Shalom with Rabbi Victor Reinstein
From the Burning Bush to Tahrir Square: Let My People Go!, Sunday April 10th, 7:30-9:00 pm
Join us for an eyewitness account of the Egyptian revolution by Ahmed Elewa. An “Egyptian-American,” Ahmed is a biologist and is trained in Islamic law, which he seeks to interpret for the American context. Approaching Pesach and the telling of our own journey from oppression to freedom, Jews and Egyptians are inextricably joined. Reflecting on the Islamic and Jewish accounts of the Israelite Exodus, Mr. Elewa and Rabbi Victor Reinstein will draw on their own friendship as an expression of hope in this season of freedom’s shared celebration. There is no cost for this program. All are welcome!
