On advice

You sit down here asking me for advice and I will give it to you. Then you’ll get up and move on and do what you intended to do. You’ll remember my advice but you won’t take it into consideration. Then one day the twist and turns of fate will bring you to sit down and recall what I’ve said. It’ll be too late to follow, but just the right time to realize that we ask for advice but proceed with what we have in mind. Advice is superfluous. Unless it comes from someone so close, someone that we’ve trusted so well that we’ve granted them access to our inner core. Someone who can plant their advice deep into our being and alter the course of our life.
